Siruda

Siruda is an engine gasket maker established in 1988, known for multi-layer steel (MLS) head gaskets used in performance and motorsport engines. Chicane stocks the Siruda range from Siruda Australia: metal head gaskets in a choice of bore and thickness, plus exhaust manifold, intake manifold, turbo and turbo pipe gaskets and full engine gasket sets for popular Japanese engines such as the Nissan SR20DET and RB26DETT, Subaru EJ20 and EJ25, Mitsubishi 4G63T, Toyota 1JZ-GTE and 2JZ-GTE and Honda B, F and K series. You can browse every brand Chicane Australia stocks on our brands page.

Choosing the Right Gasket

Siruda gaskets are engine-specific. Check your engine code first, then pick the bore and thickness:

  • Bore: match your cylinder bore, including any oversize from a rebuild
  • Thickness: a thicker gasket lowers compression and adds piston-to-head clearance
  • Type: stopper gaskets keep a stable seal under vibration; grommet gaskets suit high cylinder pressure

Siruda quotes two thickness figures: the thickness at the combustion seal and the body thickness. Each listing shows both in its specifications. If you're unsure, contact our team before ordering.

Installation & What You'll Need

Installation by a professional is recommended. Head gaskets must be fitted to clean, flat deck faces by a qualified engine builder, with the head bolts or studs tightened in sequence to the correct torque. Flat-four and V engines need one head gasket per bank.

FAQ

Which Siruda head gasket thickness do I need?
Measure piston deck height and work out the compression ratio you want with your engine builder. A thicker gasket lowers compression and adds piston-to-head clearance.

What is the difference between Siruda stopper and grommet head gaskets?
A stopper gasket adds a stopper layer between the steel layers around each bore for a stable seal under vibration. A grommet gasket puts a coated metal grommet around each bore to hold back combustion gas under high cylinder pressure.

Do Siruda full gasket sets include a head gasket?
No. The sets leave out the head gasket so you can choose the type and thickness to suit your build.

How many head gaskets does a Subaru EJ engine need?
Two, one for each cylinder head. Siruda head gaskets are sold individually.
