AEM Fuel Pumps
AEM Electronics produces high flow in-tank and inline fuel pumps rated at 340LPH and 400LPH, with E85 compatible options available. The range includes universal in-tank pumps in barb and 65mm inline configurations, inline pumps with AN or metric fittings, and plug and play applications such as the Honda Civic Type R (FK8/FL5). Pump choice depends on your fuel system layout, target power and the fuel you intend to run.

In-tank fuel pumps — 340LPH and 400LPH high flow units in single barb, double barb and 65mm with hooks or 65mm inline formats, designed to be fitted inside the factory or aftermarket fuel tank or surge tank.
Inline fuel pumps — 400LPH external units supplied with AN or metric fittings for use with surge tanks and custom fuel systems.
E85 compatible pumps — models specified by AEM as suitable for ethanol blended fuels.
Plug and play pumps — vehicle specific assemblies such as the 340LPH E85 pump for the Honda Civic Type R (FK8/FL5).

Choosing the Right Part
Start with the fuel system layout. In-tank pumps must suit the tank or surge tank opening and the available depth, so check the pump body diameter (for example the 65mm variants) and the outlet style — single barb, double barb or inline. External inline pumps require a suitable mounting location below tank level and the correct fitting type, either AN or metric.
For plug and play items, confirm the chassis code before ordering. The Civic Type R pump is listed for FK8 and FL5 chassis. Where a pump is listed as universal, it is your responsibility to confirm hanger, filter sock, wiring and fitting compatibility with your vehicle.
Also consider fuel type. If you are running E85 or an ethanol blend, select a pump AEM lists as E85 compatible. Flow ratings such as 340LPH and 400LPH are published by AEM at their stated test conditions and will vary with system pressure and supply voltage.
Installation & What You'll Need
Fuel pump replacement involves working with petrol, fuel vapour and live electrical connections, so installation by a professional is recommended. Depressurise the fuel system, disconnect the battery and work in a well ventilated area away from ignition sources.
Typical requirements include a replacement filter sock or strainer where applicable, fresh hose and clamps or AN fittings rated for fuel, appropriate gauge wiring and, on higher flow pumps, an upgraded power feed and relay. Inline pumps generally need a bracket, isolating mounts and a pre-filter. Fuel line spanners, a fuel pressure gauge and new tank seals or gaskets are commonly needed.
After fitting, check for leaks with the system pressurised before starting the engine, and have the tune verified by a qualified tuner if fuel delivery has changed.
FAQ
Are AEM 340LPH and 400LPH pumps E85 compatible? Selected models are listed by AEM as E85 compatible. Check the individual product title and description, as not every variant carries that rating.
What is the difference between in-tank and inline pumps? In-tank pumps sit inside the fuel tank or surge tank and are cooled by the fuel around them. Inline pumps mount externally, below tank level, and are plumbed into the fuel line with AN or metric fittings.
Will a universal pump fit my car without modification? Not always. Universal pumps often require an adapter hanger, a different filter sock, or changes to hoses and wiring. Confirm dimensions and fittings before ordering.
