The AEM RTD-Type Temperature Sensor is a premium solution for high-accuracy temperature monitoring across a wide range of performance applications. Designed to handle extreme conditions, this closed-tip sensor offers consistent, reliable readings for exhaust gas temps (EGTs), cylinder head temps, air temps, coolant, intercooler, and fluid temps.

Precision Meets Durability
Unlike traditional thermocouples, AEM’s RTD sensor features a thin-film platinum sensing element for superior stability and accuracy. Its closed-tip design ensures extended durability and reduced restriction when installed in tight-flow areas. The Inconel-sheathed lead terminates in a high-quality DTM-style 2-pin connector for reliable connectivity under harsh motorsport conditions.

Key Features

  • Temperature range: -40 to 1,560°F (-40 to 850°C)

  • Thin-film platinum RTD element: ±0.9% accuracy from 536°F to 1,560°F

  • Closed-tip sensor head for improved longevity and minimal flow disruption

  • 90° bent sensor tip for flexible installation in tight spaces

  • Inconel tubing protects sensor wiring from heat and abrasion

  • Includes M14x1.5 weld-in bung for easy and secure mounting

  • No calibration required when used with AEM gauges or logging systems

Applications

  • Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT)

  • Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT)

  • Pre- and post-intercooler charge temps

  • Coolant, oil, or transmission fluid temps

  • Brake rotor temperature in motorsport environments

Why Choose RTD Over K-Type?
RTD sensors provide greater long-term accuracy and reliability, especially under continuous high-heat cycles. They’re ideal for tuners and racers who need dependable data with minimal drift over time.
