Catch Cans
An oil catch can sits in the crankcase ventilation path and collects oil mist and vapour before it can be drawn back into the intake. This collection covers universal catch cans, vehicle-specific single, dual and triple catch can kits, and the drains, brackets and adapters that go with them. We stock catch cans from Radium Engineering and LEYO, plus the Process West / Terratuff SEPR8R. Catch cans sit within our wider Oiling and Crankcase range.

Choosing the Right Part
- Confirm your chassis code. Kits are model-specific. For example, the WRX VA and VB use different kits, and the Evolution 4/5/6 (CP9A/CT9A) kit differs from the Evolution X (CZ4A) kits.
- PCV, CCV, dual or triple. PCV and CCV kits each cover one side of the ventilation system. Dual and triple kits cover more than one circuit in a single kit.
- Universal or vehicle-specific. A universal can suits custom setups but needs its own fittings, lines and mounting. Vehicle-specific kits are designed around a particular engine bay.
- Fitting sizes. Check the thread and AN size for each part, such as 6AN Fluid Lock, 4AN ORB on the petcock drain kit or 10AN ORB on the VTA to VTE adapter, so everything connects correctly.
- Can size and mounting. The Short (No Extension) Competition Catch Can helps where space is tight. A mounting bracket is available separately for single cans.
Installation & What You'll Need
Installation by a professional is recommended. Universal catch cans may need extra fittings, hose and a bracket, depending on your setup. Check each product listing for exact kit contents before ordering. After installation, check and drain the can regularly. A petcock drain kit makes this easier. LEYO owners can use the LEYO Catch Can Service Kit for upkeep.
FAQ
What does a catch can do?
It collects oil mist and vapour from the crankcase ventilation system so less of it is drawn back into the intake.
Do I need a PCV, CCV or dual kit?
It depends on your engine and how much of the ventilation system you want to cover. PCV and CCV kits each handle one side, while dual kits cover both.
Should I choose a universal or vehicle-specific catch can?
Vehicle-specific kits are designed for a particular car or engine. Universal cans suit custom setups that need their own fittings and mounting.
How often should I drain my catch can?
It varies with the engine and how the car is driven, so check it regularly. A petcock drain kit makes draining simpler.
