Brake Pad FAQs
What is the difference between Street and Track pads?
Street pads are designed to work effectively from cold temperatures and offer low noise and dust. Track pads require a "warm-up" period to reach their optimal friction window and are engineered to resist "brake fade" at extreme temperatures that would destroy a standard street pad.
Do performance pads make more noise?
High-performance compounds, especially metallic track pads, can produce more "squeal" due to their higher friction levels. However, we offer many high-end ceramic options, like the Dixcel M-Type, that provide an upgrade in performance while remaining as quiet as factory pads.
When should I replace my brake pads?
Most performance pads should be replaced once the friction material reaches 3mm–4mm in thickness. For track users, we recommend regular inspections to check for "tapering" or heat cracks in the material.
