The manifold to up pipe joint is the most common leak point in the EJ turbo exhaust track, and GrimmSpeed's answer is a 12 layer, 2.5mm thick gasket with a 304 stainless steel fire ring, more than double the thickness of the OEM part. It's designed to seal reliably on your Subaru WRX or WRX STI, whether you're running factory or aftermarket manifolds and up pipes.
