DIXCEL 1314738 is the front brake pad for the larger front brakes on the Volkswagen Golf R (Mk7 and Mk7.5), Golf GTI (Mk7.5 and Mk8), Audi S3 (8V and 8Y) and VW T-Roc R (A1). These cars share the same front pad shape, so one DIXCEL part fits them all. It also fits the Audi SQ2, the VW Arteon R-Line, CC V6 and Tiguan 162TSI (AD1 facelift), and the matching Cupra and Skoda models listed in the fitment table.
DIXCEL is a Japanese brake specialist that makes its pads in Japan. Rather than one pad for everyone, each DIXCEL pad comes in a range of compounds, so you can match it to how you actually drive.
Choose your compound
- Daily / Street: Premium and M Type, for everyday driving.
- Spirited / Track Day: ES and Z Type, for hard road driving and track days.
Everything on this page
- Vehicle fitment: every car this pad fits, with chassis codes and build years. Search for yours.
- Compound comparison: how the four compounds compare side by side.
- Part numbers: the DIXCEL number, the VW Group OEM and WVA numbers it replaces, and the pad size.
- Pad shape: the pad drawing, to check against your old pads.
- Bedding-in guide: how to bed in new pads (PDF).
Note: On the Golf GTI Mk7 and early Mk7.5 (built before October 2018), this pad only fits the GTI Performance and Performance Edition 1. Other GTIs from those years need DIXCEL front brake pads for the Golf GTI (Mk7). VW CC V6: check the PR code 1LA or 1LB on the car's equipment sticker. VW Tiguan 162TSI (AD1 facelift): DIXCEL lists the Japanese 2.0 TSI 4MOTION, so check your old pads before ordering. The Golf R Mk8 and the 2025-on Audi S3 need these DIXCEL front pads. Installation by a professional is recommended.

FAQ
DIXCEL Brake Pads – Frequently Asked Questions
DIXCEL pads are engineered in Japan to provide improved stopping power, stronger pedal feel, heat resistance and long-term durability. They offer a more controlled braking feel than OEM pads, especially under repeated braking.
- EC Type: Daily street use – quiet & comfortable.
- Premium Type: OEM-plus upgrade for comfort & usability.
- M Type: Ultra-low dust – keeps wheels clean.
- ES Type: Spirited driving & winding roads.
- S Type: Street-sports & occasional track.
- Z Type: Street → supersprints → light circuit.
- RE / Specom B: Motorsport-only – not suitable for road use.
Most street-compound DIXCEL pads include wear sensors if the vehicle requires them. Some cars do not use sensors at all. If your vehicle normally runs a wear sensor and the pad set does not include one, a replacement sensor can be added separately as an optional extra.
Street-focused pads generally include anti-squeal shims and grease. Motorsport compounds typically do not include shims due to high temperature operation and racing caliper design.
Pad life depends heavily on vehicle weight, brake temperature, pad compound and driving style. Gentle daily commuting will see much longer life than repeated hard braking, spirited driving or track use, which can wear pads significantly faster.
Street compounds are designed to minimise noise. Motorsport pads may squeal when cold or lightly used – this is normal behaviour at race-level temperatures.
Yes — bedding-in is essential for correct friction transfer. Perform several medium-pressure stops to apply material to the rotor, followed by light driving to cool the brakes before heavy use.
