The AEM 3.5 BAR Brass MAP Sensor Kit offers a cost-effective and reliable solution for monitoring manifold pressure in boosted engines. With a 50 PSIa absolute rating, this sensor is suitable for applications where vacuum and boost readings are required, providing dependable data for gauges and basic monitoring systems.

What Is a PSIa Sensor?
Unlike gauge-style sensors (PSIg), PSIa sensors measure pressure relative to absolute zero. This makes them ideal for reading vacuum as well as positive pressure. A 50 PSIa sensor will read ~14.7 PSI at sea level atmospheric pressure and can be recalibrated to display zero at atmosphere, with negative values for vacuum.

When to Use a Brass Sensor
Brass sensors are perfect for applications where reference-level pressure readings are sufficient. If you're running a digital or analog boost gauge for monitoring purposes—not for ECU calibration—this sensor is the right choice. For data-critical applications like standalone ECUs, a stainless steel sensor is recommended.

Key Features

  • Rated to 50 PSIa (3.5 BAR absolute pressure)

  • Durable brass construction with sealed housing

  • ±3% accuracy margin for reliable reference readings

  • Includes weather-resistant connector and pins

  • Analog output scaled for easy integration into digital displays or data systems

Best Applications

  • Boost pressure monitoring for turbocharged/supercharged engines

  • Use with standalone or piggyback gauges

  • Ideal for street builds and budget-conscious performance setups

Sensor Comparison

  • Brass Sensor = Ruler – Great for visual reference and general monitoring

  • Stainless Sensor = Caliper – Required for precise ECU input and calibration
