Gauge vs Absolute Pressure
Gauge pressure sensors (PSIg) read 0 at atmospheric pressure, making them ideal for closed fluid systems where vacuum isn't measured. Unlike absolute (PSIa) sensors, PSIg sensors are specifically calibrated for oil, fuel, brake, and nitrous systems where pressure values need to be referenced above atmospheric conditions.
