• Chassis code: mounts are specific to the chassis. Examples include Civic Type R FK8 and FL5, Civic FC, Mazda 3 MPS BK/BL, Fiesta ST WZ, WRX VA/VB, Lancer CE/CG/CH, Integra DC2, Primera P10/P11, Micra K11, Audi A3 8V and Q3 8U.
• Gearbox type: many mounts are made only for manual or only for automatic transmissions. Check the gearbox code too, such as Subaru 5MT/6MT or the DQ250, DQ381, DQ500 and AQ450 transmissions on MQB models.
• Engine: some mounts are specific to an engine, such as B16/B18 for the Integra and Civic or EJ and FA20 for the WRX. Some exclude engines, such as Lancer mounts that do not fit 2.0L/2.4L DOHC models.
• Mount position: confirm whether you need the left, right, front, rear, transmission or pitch stop mount, or a complete kit.
• Street or race: firmer and billet mounts reduce movement but can pass more vibration into the cabin. Choose the version that suits how the car is used.

Replacing an engine or transmission mount usually means supporting the engine or gearbox while the old mount is removed. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and torque specifications. Check each product's description for any fitment conditions. Installation by a professional is recommended.

What does an engine mount do?
It holds the engine and gearbox in the chassis and controls how much they move under load, while absorbing vibration.

Will an upgraded mount increase vibration?
Firmer mounts generally pass more vibration into the cabin than standard mounts. Street versions are designed to limit this.

Does it matter if my car is manual or automatic?
Yes. Many mounts are made only for manual or only for automatic transmissions, so check the gearbox type in the product title before ordering.
