Match the kit to your chassis code rather than model year alone. Audi chassis codes in this range include 8V and 8Y (A3/S3/RS3) and 8S (TT/TTS), while Volkswagen Golf GTI and Golf R are referenced by Mk7, Mk7.5 and Mk8 generations. Some kits are listed specifically for MQB EVO cars with 355mm factory front rotors, so check whether your vehicle has the earlier or EVO front brake package. Also confirm wheel clearance, as 370x34mm rotors and 6-piston calipers require a minimum wheel diameter and suitable spoke clearance — refer to APR's published fitment and wheel clearance information for the kit you are considering.

A big brake kit replaces the front calipers, carriers, rotors and pads, and typically includes brackets and hardware. You will need the vehicle safely raised and supported, the correct torque specifications, fresh brake fluid and a full bleed of the system after fitment. Braided brake lines are often fitted at the same time. Because brakes are a safety-critical system, installation by a professional workshop is recommended, and new pads and rotors should be bedded in according to APR's instructions before hard use.
