2-Piece Brake Rotors
2-piece brake rotors separate the rotor's cast iron friction ring from its aluminium hat, and it's a setup we fit to daily drivers, weekend track cars and everything running between Sydney's streets and a trackday at The Bend. Dropping the hat to aluminium cuts unsprung and rotational mass, which helps steering feel and pedal response, especially on cars that spend real time on track. The floating design also lets the rotor expand and contract with heat without warping, which matters once you're doing back-to-back sessions rather than one hot lap.

Why 2-Piece Rotors
We recommend 2-piece rotors to customers doing regular track days or fast road driving, where consistent pedal feel under heat matters more than it does on a pure commuter. The reduced rotational mass is noticeable on turn-in, and because the friction ring is replaceable on its own, you're not throwing away a good hat every time the rotor wears down. It's a smarter long-term setup if you're chasing lap times or just want brakes that don't fade on a spirited drive.
Fitment & Installation
Always check rotor diameter and bell offset against your caliper and hub before ordering, particularly if you've already fitted a big brake kit or aftermarket calipers. Some kits use a directional friction ring, so pay attention to left/right orientation during install. Re-torque the floating bobbins after initial bedding, and always bed new rotors and pads in properly before pushing hard. If you're unsure about fitment on a modified setup, ask us before you buy.

FAQ
Are 2-piece rotors worth it over standard 1-piece rotors?
For track use or fast road driving, yes. The weight saving and heat handling are real benefits. For a car that's mostly commuting, a good 1-piece rotor and pad combo will do the job fine.
Can I replace just the friction ring later?
On most 2-piece kits, yes, that's the point. The aluminium hat is reused and only the friction ring needs replacing once it wears out.
Will these fit with my current calipers?
Check rotor diameter and thickness against your caliper before ordering. If you've fitted aftermarket calipers or a BBK, let us know the setup and we'll confirm fitment.
Do you ship these Australia-wide?
Yes, we ship across Australia.
