Camber Plates

Camber plates are strut-specific, so fitment depends on your chassis and strut top design. Common applications include Subaru WRX and STI, Toyota 86 / GR86 and BRZ, Mazda MX-5, Nissan Silvia and Skyline, Honda Civic and Integra, and VW/Audi MQB platforms. Top hat diameter, bolt pattern and strut rod size change between generations, so check the listing for confirmed compatibility before ordering.

Pillow ball plates give the most adjustment and the sharpest steering feedback, at the cost of extra road noise. Rubber or urethane bushed plates keep a street car quieter and are the easier daily choice. Camber/caster combo plates adjust both angles from one mount, which helps on strut cars chasing more caster for steering feel. Some plates are built around a specific coilover brand's top hat, so match the plate to the strut you're running.

Drop a strut car far enough and camber goes negative whether you want it or not, and the factory mount offers little or no correction. A camber plate replaces that top mount and lets you dial the angle back to a sensible street spec, or add camber deliberately for track grip. We choose to stock brands with consistent bearing quality and adjustment that stays put, because a plate that binds or seizes under load is worse than no adjustment at all.

The plate replaces the factory strut top mount, so the strut has to come out and the top nut come off. Most installers do it at the same time as a coilover fit while the spring compressor is already out. Confirm strut rod diameter and bolt pattern against the listing first. A wheel alignment afterwards is not optional, and owners generally report better results from an alignment shop that knows aftermarket plates rather than a standard chain store. Rear camber on multi-link cars needs arms, not plates.

Will camber plates bolt to my strut without modification? Most do, but top hat diameter and bolt pattern have to match your chassis and coilover. Check the listing or ask us before ordering.

Do I need an alignment after fitting? Yes. Camber and caster need to be set properly once the plates are on, and the car should be at its final ride height first.

Can I use camber plates with factory struts? Some are designed for coilover top hats only. Confirm compatibility if you're running standard struts or standard ride height.

Do camber plates make the car noisier? Pillow ball designs pass more road noise and vibration into the cabin than bushed plates, so a street car is often better off with the bushed option.
