Radium Engineering Service Kit – Fuel Vent Charcoal Canister

Radium Engineering’s fuel vent charcoal canisters are designed to eliminate fuel vapour odours emitted from the tank vent line in both EFI and carbureted systems. Over time, the activated charcoal inside the canister can become saturated, reducing filtration performance. The 20-0828-SK Service Kit includes everything needed to fully restore canister function.

Testing
Radium conducted internal flow and vapour testing on the charcoal canister:

• Flow testing using a dry-break dump can showed negligible pressure drop, confirming high venting efficiency.

• Vapour testing using a combustible gas detector revealed >10,000 ppm of fuel vapour without the canister installed, but <50 ppm with the canister in place.

Construction
The canister features a 3-piece CNC-machined 6061 aluminium body, with Type-II anodised coating for corrosion resistance. FKM O-rings seal the end caps, which use -16AN ORB female threads. Inside, vibratory-packed activated carbon is enclosed in 150 micron stainless strainers and baffles to prevent debris migration.
