The Radium Engineering FCST-X (Fuel Cell Surge Tank – 10 Years) represents a decade of continual development, combining proven design with new engineering advancements. Originally introduced in 2013, Radium’s FCST system quickly became the benchmark fuel solution for professional motorsport applications. The new FCST-X continues that legacy, offering simplified servicing, improved flow capacity, and full compatibility with a wide range of fuel pumps and fuels.
The FCST-X integrates both a lift pump and surge tank assembly inside the fuel cell to completely eliminate fuel starvation under high G-forces. A lift pump supplies fuel to the 2L surge tank, which can house up to three high-pressure EFI pumps. The return fuel from the regulator also flows into the surge tank, ensuring it remains full at all times. Three one-way fill valves automatically balance fuel between the main cell and the surge tank for constant delivery and reliability under race conditions.
The latest design features faster access to lift and surge pumps (only nine bolts total), an integrated service handle, increased surge volume, improved rollover protection, and support for up to four brushless pumps. All components are CNC-machined from anodised aluminium and sealed with FKM materials for long-term corrosion and chemical resistance. Installation requires a standard 6" × 10" 24-bolt top-mount flange with a minimum cell depth of 196 mm.
