Why TOMEI Japan
TOMEI POWERED INC. was founded in 1968 by Seiichi Suzuki, a former Nissan works driver, and is Japan's original Nissan racing constructor. That racing background (All Japan F2 and F3, D1GP, drag racing, Formula Drift Japan) is why the exhaust range is split into distinct sub-brands rather than one generic system.
What's the difference between EXPREME Ti, Ti RACING, Ti SPORTS and EXTRACK Ti?
EXPREME Ti is the core titanium line: 80mm piping, single exit, clamp-band construction, the burnt-blue finish most people picture when they think of Tomei. Ti RACING is the race-spec line for modern chassis like GT-R, 350Z, 370Z and 400Z, with straighter pipe runs and larger exits. Ti SPORTS is JASMA-certified and tuned for a more liveable street tone, currently covering the GT-R and 2022+ GR86/BRZ. EXTRACK Ti is the newest line, built for 4WD and SUV platforms like the Land Cruiser 250.
Why does Tomei Japan vs Tomei USA matter?
Tomei USA was Tomei Japan's US subsidiary until 2014, and has been fully independent since February 2019. Tomei Japan has publicly stated it has no involvement in designing, testing or manufacturing Tomei USA products. Tomei USA part numbers start with "T". Every product we sell is a genuine Machida-built, numeric-part-numbered Tomei Japan item.
Fitment & Installation
EXPREME Ti and Ti RACING use clamp-band connections rather than traditional flanges, which is lighter but means alignment matters more when fitting: get the hangers set before you fully tighten the clamps or you'll end up with an off-centre tip. On WRX/STI and 86/BRZ, we generally pair the muffler with a matching Tomei manifold (Equal-Length or Unequal-Length, depending on your turbo and tune) rather than mixing brands on the front end. Titanium cat straight pipes are for race and motorsport use only and are not designed for road-registered use.

FAQ
Will a Tomei exhaust pass rego in my state? Ti SPORTS is JASMA-certified and generally the most liveable option for road use. Ti RACING and EXPREME Ti are race-derived and aren't guaranteed to meet noise limits in every state, which vary by state and vehicle age. Get in touch before ordering if ADR compliance is a priority.
Are the titanium cat straight pipes road legal? No. They're for race and motorsport use only.
How do I know if a Tomei part is genuine Japan stock and not Tomei USA? Every product we sell carries a numeric Tomei Japan part number. Tomei USA part numbers start with "T".
Do you ship Australia-wide? Yes, we ship from the Central Coast, NSW to anywhere in Australia.
Which sub-brand suits my car? As a rough guide: WRX/STI and Evo suit EXPREME Ti, GT-R and 350Z/370Z/400Z suit Ti RACING or Ti SPORTS, and 86/BRZ/GR86 has options across EXPREME Ti and Ti SPORTS depending on year. Contact us if you're not sure which fits your chassis.
