aFe Takeda Pro DRY S Cold Air Intake
The Takeda Pro DRY S cold air intake replaces the FK8's restrictive factory airbox with a one-piece, roto-moulded sealed housing made from heat-resistant cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). The housing draws cool air from the factory front inlet plus an auxiliary air inlet, while a CAD-designed, dyno-tuned intake tube optimises flow. A large 7.5" 360-degree radial-flow filter sits inside, and a clear sight window lets you inspect it without pulling anything apart.
On aFe's own dyno the system delivers up to +14 hp and +16 lb-ft, outflowing the factory intake by 25% with a measured 350 CFM @ 7" H₂O. The gain owners notice most on a turbo car like the FK8 is the sharper throttle response and the deeper induction note under load.
Pro DRY S vs Pro 5R — Which Filter?
The version we stock uses the oil-free Pro DRY S three-layer synthetic media — washable, reusable and requiring no re-oiling, which makes it the easy-maintenance choice and the better option for the dusty conditions common across much of Australia. aFe also makes the same intake with the oiled five-layer cotton-gauze Pro 5R filter (part TM-1025B-R) for owners chasing absolute maximum flow. Fitment
This intake fits the 2017–2021 Honda Civic Type R FK8 (K20C1 2.0L turbo). Note that it does not fit the earlier FK2 European Type R, and it is FK8-specific — the newer FL5 Type R uses a different platform and intake. FL5 owners should look to our FL5-specific induction options instead.
Installation
The intake is a genuine direct bolt-on. It installs in roughly 30–60 minutes with basic hand tools, requires no cutting or drilling, and needs no tune to run — it reuses the factory seal and air scoop and integrates with the original sensors. All clamps and hardware are included.
