Hard driving on a track day or a mountain road pushes a lot of heat from the pads into the pistons, seals and brake fluid, and that is what brings on fade and a long, soft pedal. Each shim is cut from 1.0mm Grade 5 (6Al-4V) titanium, which passes far less heat than the usual steel shim, so the calipers and fluid stay cooler and the brakes stay consistent for longer.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNote:\u003c\/strong\u003e Front only, for the factory Brembo 6-piston front calipers (yellow) fitted to the VA WRX STI from the July 2017 (MY18) update.
